Evaluation
Evaluation is an important part of service-learning. Many tools exist to get the perspectives of the various parties involved and to determine the efficacy and quality of service-learning efforts.

Community Partner Survey
Community partners should be surveyed periodically to ensure the students are working on projects that are meaningful for the organization and that the relationship the partner is building with the faculty member and the institution has a solid foundation. A few samples surveys designed for community partners can be found below.

The following resources are intended as guides for informational use only. Please contact the service-learning coordinator or contact at your institution to determine the forms and guidelines that may be necessary for your particular institution.

Student Evaluation
Students should also be surveyed, independent of reflection activities, to determine the quality of their experiences with the community organization. Many faculty and schools use student evaluations to determine future site placements for their students and to help them re-examine existing partnerships.

Faculty Survey
Faculty surveys can serve a number of purposes, including providing the institution with a sense of the number of faculty engaged in service-learning, the impact of the service projects on their students and course outcomes, and the quality of the partnerships being developed.
